Dr. Walker was selected to present her research on HIV in the Philippines at the American Public Health Association annual conference in Boston, MA. It truly is an honor for Meeting TENTS to be recognized and given a platform to raise awareness on critical global health issues.
This year, the American Public Health Association celbrated its 150th year of being established! This assoiciation is critical in developing health policy and protecting the health of the country. We had an amazing time being in the company of thousands of leading reserachers, scientists, and doctors from across the world. We were reminded again, by the United States Health Secretary (Xavier Becerra) that disease knows no borders and the importance of a global perspective and collaboration to create a healthier world. We couldn’t agree more and are excited to get back in the field to fight for the marginalized in order for them to recieve the care that they need.
